The Quanmutang Reservoir Project is one of the 172 major water conservancy construction projects of the State Council. It is also the largest water conservancy project currently under construction in Hunan Province. It is known as the "Hengshao Drought Corridor" to alleviate Hunan Province. "Key water conservancy project" to solve water shortage problem. The project consists of two parts: irrigation area project and hub project.

The Qiyang main canal section in the Quanmutang Reservoir Irrigation Area is located in Qidong County. The total length of the main canal axis is 24.658 kilometers, including 15 sections of open channels, 12 sections of hidden culverts, 12 aqueducts, and 2 inverted siphons. 12 buildings and tunnels. Ancillary buildings: 5 control gates, 2 water diversion gates, 3 sluice gates, 5 bucket gates, 35 canal culverts, 7 pedestrian bridges, 8 mechanized bridges and highway bridges. The planned construction period of this project is 760 days.

It is reported that after the Quanmutang Reservoir project is fully completed, it can optimize regional water resources allocation, solve the water shortage situation in the central area of ​​the Hengshao Dry Corridor, and play an important role in ensuring food security and ensuring the daily water supply of regional residents.
